Standardized Tests

SMU Cox reviews each candidate’s application on an individual basis and will continue its test-optional policy for the Online MBA and MBA Direct programs. There is no minimum GRE, GMAT or Executive Assessment score required to apply. If you take the test more than once, we will reference your highest score. Scores for the GRE, GMAT, and Executive Assessment are valid for five years from the date you took the test.

That being said, test scores serve as one predictor of success in the MBA classroom and because our programs are small by design, we are able to thoroughly evaluate each application. For applications without a test score, we assess academic readiness through the review of application materials for evidence of prior academic success, quantitative strength, and applicable professional experience.

We encourage all applicants to evaluate their application strengths and opportunities for improvement and find ways to put forward their strongest application. Our Admissions Team is here and happy to help if you have questions or would like to discuss your application.
